Sunday, June 21 is REOPEN SUNDAY at GPBC!

Reopen Sunday Announcement June 21.jpg

We are looking forward to this Sunday June 21, as we Open the church doors of GPBC for “In Person Gatherings”

Ever since March 8, GPBC has been closed to “in person gatherings” by the Executive Order of Governor Kate Brown. We initially accepted this mandate in light of two considerations:

·     First, the Scriptural command to obey the “higher powers”.

·     Second, the foreboding pandemic concerns for public safety at that time.

After being closed for over 13 weeks, it is evident that it is time for GPBC to return to “in person gatherings.”

We plan to do so This Sunday, June 21 (which is Father’s Day) at 11 am!

We are NOT doing this out of obstinacy to the Governor, but rather out of obedience to God! I have sought godly counsel from Dr. Gibbs, of Christian Law Association; Ray Hacke, Pacific Justice Institute, as well as other pastors and advisors.

As Senior Pastor, I also have the support of my Staff and our Deacons to move in this measure. However, more importantly, I have the clear conviction that this is what God wants us to do.

As promised, we are doing this Scripturally, we are doing it Safely!

Much preparation has been made to assure that as much as is humanly possible GPBC is as safe as or safer than any business or venue in Multnomah County.

We have and will continue to practice all of the CDC recommendations and mandates to assure the safety of anyone that would like to return to GPBC for as long as deemed necessary.

To all of our GPBC family and our friends, we encourage you to please pray and if this is the right time for you to return to In person Gatherings at GPBC.

Please read and review the Reopening Guide and the Schedule that we will follow to reopen.

Of course, if you are sick, have a fever or if you have been exposed to COVID-19, please wait to return to GPBC until your Doctor has cleared you.

For anyone that has health risks because of age or immune deficiencies, we recommend that you wait as long as you think it is necessary, before you return.

We will continue to stream the services for you. Please pray that God will be glorified as we obey his command to “Not forsake the assembly of His Church once again!”

Our Country and our state and our city is in trouble!

The Pandemic has been one thing but the Pandemonium has escalated this to a whole new level!

Please Pray for our leaders, the President Donald Trump, Governor Kate Brown, Portland Mayor, Ted Wheeler, Our Policemen, for these Protests, and for our country to be United once again in Peace and Respect for one another!

Remember that Jesus said, “A house divided against itself cannot stand!”

To every member and Leader we need you to please remember….“We are not going back…we are going forward!”

Psalm 133:1 says “Oh, how good it is for the brethren to dwell together in unity!”

We will be honoring all Fathers this Sunday and will have an ice cold Dad’s Root beer for every Father after the service!

As we plan for this Sunday, let me remind you that…We are not Going Back…We are Going Forward!

Yes, Things will be different from when you last attended, but one thing remains constant… Jesus Christ will be lifted up and God’s Word will be preached!   I promise!

Until then, let us keep worshipping, witnessing, working, waiting and watching for our Lord’s soon return!

I hope to see you THIS SUNDAY!

If not please continue to watch the Live stream!

Give us a call if you have any questions or if you need anything!

Rest assured that we love you and faithfully pray for you all!

God Bless you!
